Following the tragic and unfortunate incident that happened yesterday,  12/3/19, by some gun-men who attacked and killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), and three (3) other officers, at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Afuze, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Andrew Osigwe, has declared today, Wednesday (13/3/19),  a work-free day to mourn the gallant officers in the LGA.

Hon. Andrew said that their death in the hands of unscrupulous gunmen was indeed uncalled for and very painful. He, however, described the deceased DPO as a professional officer who knew his job's calling and always worked meticulously while advocating peace.

He said the late officer's dutifulness and strategies have helped in the prevention and reduction of crime  and criminality such as kidnapping, adoption, rape, murder, armed robbery and other social vices in the entire local government area.

He calls on all security agencies to rise up to the occasion in their investigations, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators by  speedily bringing them to justice.

He joined the families of the victims in mourning at this trying time and prays  for the repose of their souls! May they continue to rest in perfect peace, amen.
