A menacing Boko Haram fighter, with the nickname SpiderMan, has been killed by Nigerian troops.
The man who always mounted a gun truck, wearing the spiderman’s mask met his Waterloo 26 September.
He, along with his ragtag squad was killed in the encounter with Nigerian troops.
Spiderman was among the Boko Haram fighters who attacked Garshigar community of Mobar Local Government Area in Borno on Wednesday.
Texas Chukwu, Army Director of Public Relations, said the insurgents, who were in nine gun trucks, were repelled by troops of 145 Battalion deployed for Operation Lafiya Dole following superior power of the vigilant troops.
He added that “preliminary battle damage assessment reveals that the overwhelming superior power of the troops devastated the insurgents, inflicting human and equipment casualty on the insurgents which forced them to withdraw in disarray.”
The director said that the gallant troops regrouped after the fierce encounter and dominated the general area of Garshigar and its environs with fighting patrols.
“The good people of Mobar Local Government are urged to remain calm and be assured of troops’ commitment to provide adequate security in the general area,” he added.

Adams Oshiomhole,  the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress said  the party’s governorship  primaries  for Imo and Lagos states have been postponed.
The elections which were scheduled for Sunday, have been moved till Monday.
He said they were shifted for logistic reasons. The two states are scheduled to hold direct primaries to select the governorship candidate of the party.
In Lagos, two aspirants, incumbent Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu are left in the race, after the third aspirant, Obafemi Hamzat withdrew for Sanwo-Olu.
In Imo, nine  aspirants are in the race. They are  Senator  Hope Uzodinma,  Uche Nwosu being backed by Governor Rochas Okorocha, deputy governor Prince Eze Madumere, Sir Jude Ejiogu and Barr. Chima Anozie.
Others are Dr. Chris Emenike Nlemoha , Sir Eche George Ezenna , Chukwudi Celestine Ololo  and Air Commodore Peter Gbujie.

A few hours after she quit the All Progressives Congress, Aisha Jummai Alhassan, also fondly known as Mama Taraba, former minister of women affairs, announced she has switched to United Democratic Party(UDP).
She made the announcement on Twitter, where she earlier today announced her resignation both from President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet and withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress.
APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole said she was not cleared to run for the primary  governorship ticket of the party, which takes place tomorrow.
But Alhassan appeared keen in joining the race for the governorship of the state as she immediately moved to UDP.
She said on Twitter: I have officially JOINED my next POLITICAL PARTY with 7 state Assembly Members, all executives from 169 wards of Taraba State. All 16 local Government exco’s of APC All states executives of APC, we are now in UDP”.
United Democratic Party, according to INEC has its registered office at  6 Gnassingbe Eyadema Street, Asokoro District, Abuja.
Its chairman is Godson Okoye, a lawyer. It at present has no financial secretary, INEC said.
Its national secretary is Abdul Razaq Yusuf and Tony Ogbulafor is the legal adviser.
On Facebook, the party says its mission  make Nigeria a better place.

An Indian man’s quest to get the most out of his sex life has backfired in a horrible way when the condom that was supposed to give him ‘extended pleasure’ gave his penis an allergic reaction.
According to a report in SunOnline, the man went to King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, India after his penis began to swell up, became painful and parts turned black.
The team that treated the man, led by Dr Ashish Sharma, said the patient had no known drug allergies.
They ran a series of tests, in the process ruling out sexually transmitted infections.
In a medical case report, Dr Sharma reveals his patient was diagnosed as suffering allergic contact dermatitis, and gangrene of the penis – meaning parts were beginning to rot away.
It turns out that the new brand of condoms contained a topical medication, benzocaine which the doctors noted is used in extended-pleasure latex condoms for prolonging the duration of sexual intercourse and to decrease premature ejaculation.
It turns out that since 1996, when the first case of a man suffering allergic contact dermatitis after using latex condoms was documented, doctors have seen just four cases being reported.
While rare, there are certain things that can make it more likely that a man will suffer penile gangrene.
They include diabetes, having experienced trauma to the penis, using a c*ck ring sex toy, as well as penis ops.
Doctors gave the man antibiotics to try and reduce the swelling.
And surgeons operated on his penis to remove the rotting tissue – and perform a skin graft.
Treatment was carried out over the course of three weeks, and six months later he was “doing fine”, reporting “no sexual or urinary complaints”, doctors said in the BMJ.

Mr Adams Oshiomhole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, has debunked speculations that a deal involving money was made with Sen. Iyiola Omisore of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to support the party.
Oshiomhole admitted that APC had some agreements with Omisore which bothered on policies and the welfare of the people of the state.
But he emphatically denied that money was involved.
Oshiomhole set the records straight while addressing newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
He said ultimately the people of Osun made their free choice by voting the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, at the election.

Senior military and government officials on Friday paid tributes as Nigerian Air Force officer, Squadron Leader, Mohammed Bello Baba-Ari was buried.

The dignitaries including the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari; Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and others who were at Gudu cemetery where the officer was buried.

The 32-year-old pilot lost his life on Friday when two Nigerian Air Force F-7Ni aircraft participating in the rehearsals for the aerial display to mark Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary celebrations had a mid-air collision. 


According to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, the three pilots involved in the crash had ejected before their aircraft crashed into the general area Katamkpe Hill, but Baba-Ari succumbed to the injuries he sustained upon impact on the ground.

The two others who were injured in the crash are in stable conditions and currently receiving treatment at the Defence Intelligence Agency clinic in Abuja.

Air Marshal  Abubakar also announced that the Nigerian Air Force has since launched a probe into the cause of the crash.
