Police Officers of the Delta State Police Command, led by the Commissioner, Adeyinka B. Adeleke, have intercepted a white Hilux with 128 pieces of explosives and five pieces of electric detonators.

The dangerous weapons were recovered inside the back compartment of the Hilux along Ughelli-Patani Road in Delta State on Friday.

Occupants of the vehicle, who refused to stop at a police checkpoint, were pursued until they swerved the vehicle into the bush before jumping out and escaping.

The vehicle and the weapons inside it have been taken to the headquarters of the Delta State Police Command in Asaba and handed over to the Explosives and Ordinance Department.
