Media Mogul, Dele Momodu has reacted to the recent appointment of AIG Adamu Mohammed as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP)
The presidency will on Tuesday announce the appointment of AIG Adamu Mohammed as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), to replace outgoing IGP, Ibrahim Idris, an impeccable source told DAILY POST Monday night.
Also a presidency source had earlier confirmed to NAN that President Muhammadu Buhari had zeroed in on the senior officer.
His elevation means that all Deputy Inspectors-General will retire from service.
Mohammed had served as the Commissioner Of Police in Enugu State. He was one time director of peacekeeping operations of the Force.
He is currently the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin, Edo State.
Mohammed is also a directing staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
He was born on November 9, 1961 and enlisted in the police in 1986.
Reacting, Momodu expressed surprise at the development despite ‘moves’ by Idris to stop his retirement.
On his Twitter page, he wrote: “AIG Adamu Lafia from Nasarawa State has emerged as the new IGP.
“Wow, whatever has a beginning must have an end. So, after all the ‘gra gra’ of our troublesome Inspector General of Police, and the over zealousness to please his masters instead of his country, retirement eventually came. Goodbye Mr Ibrahim Idris.”
