Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Police have taken over the jobs of National Assembly staff.

This followed the directive by the leadership of the National Assembly to the Department of State Services and the police to make the complex suitable for sitting on Tuesday.

Owing to this, the striking staff of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, who had embarked on a strike to protest the nonpayment of their N5.8 billion allowance, were locked out of the premises.
