The National Assembly says it will fast track the passage of the new national minimum wage bill once it is received from the executive because of its significance to Nigerian workers welfare.
Sen. Mao Ohuanbuwa, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour told newsmen in Geneva that the Senate President had already given assurance that the bill would be accorded express hearing and passage by the legislature.
He said that the upper chamber was looking forward to that bill because it was expected to come out as an executive bill.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Niger has donated consumables to the Minna orphanage and provided free medical services and drugs for inmates in Minna prison as part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of the scheme.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Theresa Arokoyo, said the gesture aimed to reach out to the less privileged in society to encourage them to stay away from drugs and criminal activities.
The Nassarawa State Government says it has spent over N1.9 billion on the renovation of schools and constructed no fewer than 700 blocks of primary and secondary school classrooms between 2012 and 2018 in the state.

A Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Ibironke Thomas, has called for more awareness, continuous education, early detection and treatment to reduce the burden of depression in Nigeria.
Thomas said depression was a medical condition triggered by the interplay of environmental factors and biological factors, including genetic predisposition, hormones and neurotransmitters.
She urged government at all levels and relevant stakeholders to give more attention and commit more resources to developing and equipping the Primary Health Care system to facilitate management of patients at initial detection.
UK foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, has welcomed the freezing of assets and placing of travel ban sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council panel on six major human traffickers operating in Libya.
According to Johnson, this is the first time the UN has imposed sanctions against people traffickers, adding that the targeted individuals have been complicit in serious human rights abuses against migrants, including women and children.
