The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three men for allegedly beheading a commercial motorcycle (okada) rider, Olawale Gbogi.

The police gave the names of the suspects as Abdulahi Sheu, Harruna Suberu and Onimisi Liberty.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the suspects allegedly hired the services of the victim from Ikare Akoko, in the Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, to take them to Ihima, Kogi State, for a sum of N3,000.

According to the PPRO, on getting to Ihima, the suspects directed the victim towards a bush path where he was allegedly beaten up and dispossessed of his motorcycle and mobile phone.

He added that the victim was killed and beheaded by one Rabiu, who was at large.

“Immediately the command got a report of the incident, we swung into action which led to the arrest of Sheu in Akure with the victim’s handset and the motorcycle.

“The head of the victim was allegedly taken to the house of one Dada Alabi, a herbalist, by Onimisi Liberty. But he (Alabi) refused to take it from him. The head is said to be in the possession of Rabiu, while the other body parts of the victim have not been found,” Joseph said. LR News
