Chubuzor
insisted that “if civil servants can be made to retire at a certain age or by a
certain number of years in service, it will not be out of place for politicians
to also quit the scene at some point in time to give the younger ones a chance.
“If you look at it very closely, you will observe that some of those
personalities who were at the helm of affairs either at independence in 1960 or
after the civil war between 1970 and 1985 are still around calling the shots in
various positions of leadership.
He
disclosed that the group would be organising the maiden edition of youth
leadership understanding summit with the theme: ‘The Role of Youths in Politics
and Good Governance and the Impact of Elected Office Holders in Community
Development.’
Chubuzor
said the summit which would draw discussants from various fields of endeavour,
will hold at Agbor on September 30, 2017. He said the aimed of the summit is to
sensitize youths ahead of the 2019 general election.
