Day of Odessa is an annual event held in Odessa, a city governed by a Mayor and ranks as the third most populous city in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Government has written a former Governor of Abia State and Chairman of Slok Group, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, requesting his presence as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2017 “Day of Odessa” celebration in Ukraine.

A letter personally signed by the Major of the city of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, to Kalu said: “Many reputable international figures with prowess in leadership and business have already honoured the occasion in the past.”
The Mayor asked Kalu to honour him with his presence at the seven on September 1.
Trukhanov said: “It is a pleasure for me to invite you as our Special Guest as well as accompanying persons to visit Odessa and take part in our celebrations during which everybody enjoy inimitable atmosphere of beautiful multidimensional odessa and unquenchable optimism of its citizens.
“Your acceptance of this kind request would undoubtedly propel a strong rallying point for establishment of cross cultural relationship and exchange of experiences between the people of Nigeria and Ukraine.”
